A ilusão simbólica de aproximar-se do sagrado

O poder arquetípico das cartas de tarot foi mostrado fora de seu modelo originário, mas ainda em seus fortes símbolos: XV na primeira cena – O Diabo entre duas figuras humanas, e depois IIX, O Pendurado como o homem que se tornará a imagem de Jesus.

Essa leitura é mais simbólica do que imagética, porque o homem deitado sem força (mesmo se cagando e se mijando todo) lembra a posição impotente que O Pendurado pode significar.

Há muitas referências ao Tarot e esta análise pode se estender muito. A coragem de levar a figura de Jesus a essa personalidade idiota, ingênua e “demasiadamente humana” é belíssima, uma razão pela qual eu poderia ser uma freira-bruxa por toda a minha vida.

A crítica política sobre as pessoas mais poderosas da Terra, tomando nomes de planetas, é realmente agradável esteticamente e muito bem arquitetada, pois a principal preocupação para este universo é, de fato, o conforto assegurado pela violência.

Quando todos aqueles poderosos se reúnem para finalmente chegar à Montanha Sagrada, eles negam a sociedade (não apenas o dinheiro). O elo entre Jesus e esses personagens é a cena em que ele chega à Torre, outra carta do Tarot (XVI). Esta carta significa conexão com deus, mas também destruição nas estruturas materiais. Muito justo, considerando o alquimista como O Mago (carta I), o próprio Jodorowsky revela a verdade por trás da verdade, em seu filme mágico ele mostra o sentido místico e invisível da vida.

The illusion of growing closer to holyness

The archetypal power of tarot cards has been shown out of their original model but still in its strong symbols: XV on the first scene –  TheDevil between two human figures, and later IIX, The Hanged Man as the man who will become Jesus figure. This reading is more symbolic than imaging because the man laying with no strength (even shitting and peeing on himself) reminds of the powerless position Hanged Man might mean.

There are plenty of references to Tarot and this analysis could take really long. The nerve to take Jesus figure to this idiot, naïve and “too human” personality is very beautiful, a reason I could be witch-nun my whole life.

The politic critical on the most powerful people on Earth, taking planets names, is really aesthetically pleasing and highly well architected as the main worry for this world actually is the convenience assured by violence.

When all those powerful ones get together to finally take to the Holy Mountain, they deny the society (not only the money). The link between Jesus to these characters is the scene when he gets to The Tower, another Tarot card (XVI). This card means connection with god, but also destruction on material structures. Very fair, considering the alchemist as The Magician (card I), Jodorowsky himself reveals the truth behind the truth, on his magical movie he shows the mystical and invisible meaning of life.

Unfortunately, this conclusion I had just made when the movie was over, took me to rate it as 4 stars. Although it is for sure a terrific movie – surrealistic, exquisite and vivid.
